Inside Out Weight Loss: Aligning Mind, Body and Spirit for Lasting Change

Create a Microcosm of Abundance

images.jpgI know this is a bit off topic, but I felt inspired to write….

With all the gloom and doom about the economy these days, is there any hope for our financial futures? Of course you know I will answer this question with a resounding YES!, and here’s why.

So much of the economy is based on people’s feelings about the economy.  If people are worried, they buy less, do less, start less businesses, etc.  This means less demand for goods and services, which brings the economy down.  And how do we form our feelings or beliefs about the economy? In large part from the media, and to a lesser degree from our personal experience.

But what if you are directly affected?  Then perhaps its a great time to ask that magic question: What do I want instead?

Perhaps now is the time to think about enjoying more free time to spend with friends and family, or to think about getting more education. Or maybe you were not so happy in your job and this is a call for a transition.  Who knows? What I do know is that we are a heck of a lot more likely to find a silver lining if we look for one.

So even if your abundance isn’t financial in the moment, how about creating your own microcosm of abundance by focusing on what you and your friends and family do have, and dreaming about the future you want to create?

Ditto all of this Renee! We are what we create-if we create doom and gloom, that is certainly what we will get.

Thank you for your podcast-you are my daily companion during my morning drive time and more often than not I fall asleep listening to your soothing voice (Are your Guided Journey’s effective when we fall asleep during them?!)

Amen! I find that I have more time — as I refuse to delve in depth into the gloom and doom in the newspaper and the nightly news. And my experience as a self-employed person matches yours Renee — my work is expanding and I like it that way! When I query my friends, their experience is the same. My brother feels a little contracted — but then his eldest daughter just started college and he has tuition payments — would be true in any event.

I am so thrilled with what you offer and what I hear from abraham-Hicks offerings — my present is joyful and I fully expect my future to be as well.

Living in New York City, I have definitely seen some of the “doom and gloom”– working at a restaurant near the Lehman Brothers headquarter, I can tell you that the day they announced bankruptcy, half the stuff was immediately cut. It was brutal!

But at the same time, there is ALWAYS plenty of positive stuff to focus on. I have several friends who have recently lost their job, but I’m lucky enough to still have my own! And even some of those friends who have lost their jobs have made comments about how it’s a sort of blessing in disguise; a chance for them to pursue a new or different career path.

I think the most positive thing I’m realizing from this “recession” (is it? is it not?) is that money really does not equate with happiness; because I certainly don’t have it, and I’m incredibly happy! I’d definitely rather focus on being happy than on worrying over what today’s newspaper says!

Since I live way out in the country, I often think about how I am rich in the natural beauty around me, rich in friends, rich in relationships…. Thanks to you I am becoming rich in loving life in the body I live in!! Thanks so much, Renee, for figuring out how to reach more of us who need your work!!!

On a totally unrelated note, is there any way to get the name of the artist who did your lovely “intro” music on the podcasts? It would help me to “re-center”, if I could hear more of his/her work… I just love how it sounds like bells….

Hi Renee: I hope you can see this message. You must be so busy (a mom, a professional, a learning mind, a wife, a creative person, etc etc) and I can appreciate all that you do and balance.

First off, thank you for the chance to “cultivate a different mind set” about the weight loss journey. You appeal to our intelligence and higher self, and I thank you.

Here is something I would like to share with you, Renee, and all the other folks on this journey…..I am an avid reader of www.alternet.org. This article is extremely interesting. http://www.alternet.org/reproductivejustice/107661/thin_is_the_new_miserable/?page=entire If you have time, take a look.

    Here is a meaningful excerpt:
“If you’re feeling good about everything, you do recognize when you’re full and stop eating, which doesn’t happen when you’re shoving food into your mouth because you’re so conflicted about eating it in the first place. You stop saying any food is evil or bad.
