Inside Out Weight Loss: Aligning Mind, Body and Spirit for Lasting Change

Support Homeless Pounds

Ever wonder where all those pounds go that people lose? Top weight loss coach Renee Stephens certainly did.  Stephens has helped thousands lose tens of thousands of pounds.  “I thought, wow, I’m responsible for so many displaced pounds, really homeless pounds. I feel responsible for their welfare. I just can’t go on turning them loose to fend for themselves when some of them are completely incapable of making it on their own.”

According to Stephens, these “lost” pounds just don’t have the life skills necessary to make it in the world.  They have been completely dependent on their host for so many years. It’s like taking a duck whose been living at the zoo pond and expecting it to quack out of that controlled environment. Sure, some could find a nice pond in the park where bread crumbs come easy, but others won’t.  It’s the same with these lost pounds.

Homeless advocates are hailing the cause. “Finally, someone is taking responsibility for these lost pounds.  They get forgotten because they are unseen, but that doesn’t mean that we can just let them go” said Susie Snozzle, president of the Home for Homeless Causes in San Francisco.

Stephens and Snozzle have teamed up to create the Home for Homeless Pounds, a San Francisco based non-profit dedicated to providing temporary shelter and teaching life skills to the lost pounds.  “We can actually accommodate a huge number of lost pounds in our facility, because they don’t take up any space. In fact, we’re not even sure they are here, but the important thing is that we are here for them” said Snozzle.
