<description>I have a group of friends and we are all over weight. So this year, I recruited them to be my support group. Only one of the girls was recruited without her permission, the rest volunteered! Well, we started a blog to keep in touch. None of us have ever used a blog before so we are quite new at it but are very satisfied with what we are doing.
The first two months of our endeavor went well for 3 of us, the fourth struggled and is still struggling. On the third month two more of us started to go down the tube and the only one left standing and doing a good job was the one that didn’t give us here permission. In fact, we made it a competition to see who could the most percentage of their body weight in the 1st quarter of the year. She lost 26 lbs and over 10%. The other two of us slid backwards drastically in the 3rd month and the one struggling the most gained 8%.
Towards the middle of March, I knew that I was getting into my same old bad habits and I was losing my motivation which is what I believed got me to where I am today. 198 lbs at 5’6’. So I started looking to meditation. I started to believe that I needed to take care of my mind and soul also or the body wouldn’t work like I wanted it to. I started looking at myself in the entire package. I got the other gal that backslid with me to buy into this and we both started listening to meditation podcasts. This worked wonderfully for our attitudes and well-being but didn’t seem to be motivating us towards healthy eating. So I went to i–tunes and started searching for weight loss meditation which lead me to your podcast!
I met with the girls today for our monthly meeting. We meet and discuss what has and has not been working, exchange exercise CD’s and generally harass those who are not doing well. Today we got to award Our Biggest Loser for winning the first quarter competition.
Anyway, I told them about your podcast. I have only listened to 3 episodes but I am totally sure that this is what we need to make our “healthy lifestyle” work. I have already started to look at things differently. I am no longer on a diet. I am working towards my purple pants and away from the 200 mark on the scale !
I feel very fortunate that you are sharing for free your knowledge, and methods. Like you said, we want to work toward our future but are not sure how. Now we are learning. What excites me is that I can apply this to many aspects of my life.
I went to a flea market and found a book for $1 – it happened to be the 7 habits of highly effective people you mentioned on your podcast. What a deal!!!
This is our blogsite if you would like to check it out and give us your opinion.
